A Day Aboard Double Trouble

The morning begins at a leisurely pace, with a coffee in hand — espresso, or perhaps a traditional caffè alla leccese, served over ice with almond milk — accompanied by a still-warm pasticciotto, the iconic pastry of a Salentine breakfast.

But that is only the prelude.

Once the moorings are cast off and the sails are hoisted, Double Trouble reveals her true spirit.

This is no catamaran designed simply for sitting still. She is a genuine sailing vessel that responds to the wind, slicing through the water rather than merely crossing it, as we sail towards Punta Prosciutto — one of the most beautiful spots along the Salento Ionian coast, where crystal-clear waters take on unmistakably Caribbean colours.

What makes Double Trouble special is the way she combines two things that rarely come together: the feeling of sailing on a genuine, responsive sailing vessel and the comfort of a cruising catamaran.

On board, your eyes can roam freely across the horizon, while the feeling of being completely surrounded by open air becomes part of the experience itself.

Unlike a traditional cruising catamaran, where an enclosed saloon usually occupies the space between the hulls, Double Trouble features a completely open central deck. It is a generous outdoor space designed to keep you connected with the sea, the wind and the sailing experience. Nothing obstructs the view, and nothing comes between you and the landscape.

At the same time, comfort is never sacrificed. The two hulls provide all the facilities you may need during the day, including toilets, showers, bunk beds, privacy and an unlimited supply of fresh water.

It is a different way of experiencing a catamaran: not as a floating lounge from which to look at the sea, but as a sailing boat in which the sea becomes part of the experience.

Once we reach Punta Prosciutto, the anchor goes down and the pace changes.

Now it is time to swim.

Some of you may want to slip into the water with mask and fins and explore beneath the surface. Others may prefer to paddle away on a SUP board. Or you may simply dive in, swim, and return to the spacious deck netting to dry in the sun.

Then comes aperitif time!

Warm Barese focaccia, mini frise topped with cherry tomatoes and stracciatella, Caprese-style bread — a selection of simple, authentic flavours that taste even better when enjoyed surrounded by the sea.

This is what we mean by the real flavours of Puglia.

A bottle of wine for every five guests is included.

As the afternoon unfolds, fresh fruit and a glass of Prosecco accompany the slow rhythm of the day. Then the sails are hoisted once again, and Double Trouble begins the final leg of the journey back towards Porto Cesareo.

And sailing back at sunset is usually a magical moment.

For those who love the sea, there is something special about that feeling: the day is coming to an end, yet nothing feels wasted. Quite the opposite.

You have spent the day exactly where you wanted to be — surrounded by wind, water, light and open sky.
